1) slaves begging entrance or exit from Dark Shadows.
Slaves are not required to beg entrance to Dark Shadows unless it is required of their Owner, all slaves however, are required to beg exit. Any Free Person can grant exit or entrance to a slave begging for such, the exception to this is IF the slaves Owner is present it is Theirs to deal with. In addition if a slave is in service to a Free Person then they must request exit from that Person should they need to leave. Should a slaves server crash or they get dropped from the House by no fault of their own AND they return with in 15 ehn then they need not announce their return and may simply return to what they were doing as if nothing had happened. IF in begging exit from the House no Free Person answers a slaves request the slave may depart as if they had been granted permission to leave but they must ask a total of three times with at least an ehn between each request before doing so.

2) Use of slave language
slaves are not required to speak in third, again unless their Owner requires it, or the girls are still in their early training in Dark Shadows.

3) Greetings (more)
All Free Persons are to greet other Free Persons with the Gorean Hello “Tal”. Slaves are to be greeted with and also greet with “nidan”. All Greetings should be held until the person entering has posted their entrance to the House. Administrators of Dark Shadows should always be greeted first, followed by all other Free Persons and then slaves present. The exception to this will be if a slave is entering and their owner is present then the Owner is to be greeted first, then any Administrator followed by all other Free Persons and finally slaves present.

4) Addressing the Free Persons and First slaves appropriately.
On Gor all Free persons are Masters or Mistress’s. slaves will address all Free Persons according to sex and desired designation as it is required of them so if You are new to Gor do not tell them to not address you as such.
a) Free Males will be addressed as Master in all cases unless the Free Male is of a region that designates Them as Jarl or Lord.
b) Free Women will be addressed as Mistress or Lady.
c) Any first girl, either of the Dark Shadows House or another will be addressed as mistress.

5) Multi Tasking
slaves are NOT permitted to multi task at all while in Dark Shadows. To do so is a punishable offense as it is a blatant show of disrespect and attention to the Free Persons present. At the same principle, while it is not mandatory for Free Persons to also not Multitask it is a show of a lack of common courtesy to all present if You do so as the kajirae that come to Dark Shadows are here to show the beauty and devotion of their servitude and the least the Free can do is give the appropriate attention back during the slaves serves.

6) Time for Serves vs Harta serves vs no serves
the slaves work hard and with great pride to perform a pleasing serve so if you do not have the time to enjoy their hard work appropriately do not ask for service. If a Free person is in a hurry or short on time but is certain They have time for a “Harta” (quick) serve then they may ask a slave for a serve “Harta” which in Gorean instructs the slave to do it quickly.

7) Slave attitude.
slaves are just that slaves, they are not permitted to whine or complain in public unless specifically told by a Free Person present at the time that they may speak openly. Any other time should a slave be seen or heard whining, complaining, or any other manner that is inconsistent with their station should be reported to a House Administrator and/or the slaves Owner.

8) Punishment of Slaves
Punishment of slaves in Dark Shadows is completely reserved for the offending slaves Owner. A Free Person May chastise a slave but otherwise They are not permitted to punish a slave in any physical fashion. If a slave of the House or another Free is found displeasing they are to be posted to one of the 4 posts upon the decking. There is a post in each corner of the decking and also the whipping post in the sand pit. Once the slave is posted they are required to remain there, notify their Owner that they have been posted and await the Owners arrival and subsequent punishment or decision.

9) Whispering or Pming (more)
every person in Dark Shadows, with the Exception of the Administrators and the House First girl, is expected to publicly request permission to whisper to another person in the house and receive such permission BEFORE whispering or PM’ing the person. If a slaves owner is present then permission must be acquired from the slaves Owner.

10) Special Instructions/Restrictions
it is the right of every Owner to place special instructions/restrictions upon Their property. As long as these instructions to do not violate the existing House rules they are to be permitted and honored by all persons in the House. These instructions may include specific methods of entering, exiting, the permission to lap or fur, Persons they are specifically not allowed to serve etc. All special instructions/restrictions for a slave should be posted on the Message Forum under the Heading “Special slave instructions/restrictions”. If they are not posted there then they can not be known to All and thus not honored.

after talking to Master Dark Wolf about last night He has allowed me to make this posting.

We are not D/s or BDSM, this is Gor. where in D/s rooms They would stop and watch a serve, here on Gor the Free talk through it. why? because the slaves are expected to serve and it is normal for slaves to do as they should and go unseen.

how does this translate here? well... we are Gorean. we have chores. if there are no Free in the room, it is ok for slaves to relax in the room with casual conversations. Yet once a Free enters, slaves are expected to act properly and tend the Free. if there are plenty of slaves and there are Free in the room and no service was requested...

you as slaves are expected to keep busy. whether you bus tables, go to the servery, whatever. the only way you can possilbly get out of this is if you are called to serve the Free or called to Their feet.

you MUST still greet all Free that enter and greet them PROPERLY.

so sorry slaves... but now there is no sitting idly in the room while Free are present. if i catch it or hear of it.... thats the end. the price you pay might not be worth your idleness.

What is Gor?

If you are new or unfamiliar with the concept of Gor Dark Shadows is a good place to learn. The Free Persons and slaves you will encounter here take Gor very seriously, and will not tolerate those who come to play games. You will be expected to be Gorean while in the House. Failure to respect the House’s Gorean ways and traditions will be considered a breach of these protocols and result in your departure from the House in one fashion or another.

Remember:
In Gorean the word for Stranger is the same as for Enemy. If you are a Stranger, you can be strong, but do so with respect for those who are frequent patrons of the House. Nothing will get cause more of a stir sooner than entering the House as a Stranger and acting as if you own everything. Yes, be Gorean. Make your self known. But do it with respect to those who call Dark Shadows home. Once you are no longer a considered a Stranger, you will find those here to be among the most loyal on Gor.



Enforcement of Protocol

The Master of Dark Shadows is charged with the enforcement of these protocols over all individuals, slave or Free. Failure to abide by the protocols may result in either temporary or permanent banishment from Dark Shadows. The first girl FG of the House likewise is charged with the enforcement of protocols and slave rules over all slaves within Dark Shadows. Anyone in violation of the protocols or rules will receive one warning before action is taken. If warned, it would be wise to heed the warning.

Non-Gorean visitors

There may be times, however, when the Master of Dark Shadows will not be in the House when a non-Gorean enters and violates the protocols. There is a simple solution to such persons. Ignore them, and they will usually go away.
